REBECCA MAGEE

Sustainability & Strategy

I am a systems-thinking, sustainability-focused community builder who loves to use a diverse set of tools to help organizations and individuals to reconnect to each other and to our planet, so we can build a world where all life can thrive.

How many projects are too many when they are all motivated by our planet’s climate crisis? I ask myself this too, but instead of slowing down, I just made this site to keep track of them.

Some of my favorite projects have included:
Launching the first corporate grant program to focus on the crucial (and underfunded) intersection of gender equity and planetary health.Designing and facilitating an education program at EILEEN FISHER to teach employees about environmental and human rights issues at each step of the product lifecycle, so they could understand how their daily decisions affect the sustainability of the whole.Leading women on seasonal retreats from Maine to the Poconos for life-changing time in nature and in supportive community with each other.Founding This I Wear, a sustainable fashion blog, that helped readers integrate their personal values into their shopping and clothing care behaviors.
Currently, I’m working on a few things:
Developing a new project to help women uncover their ability to heal their own health and our planet at the same time. Sign up for my retreat email list to be notified when it launches mid-2020!Hosting quarterly gatherings for Austin women working in social impact. Stay in the loop here!Facilitating communities of women through peer groups, mutual mentorship and more.
